About Us

A cosy farm stay at the Snæfellsnes peninsula

Lava water is an excellent accommodation with very well furnished apartments and rooms, located at the southern part of Snæfellsnes peninsula at the farm Miðhraun 2.

The accommodation is quiet, surrounded by nature and ideally located for those who want to explore the Snæfellsnes peninsula.

The Snæfellsnes penisula is known for its dramatic landscapes and is the only part of our beautiful country where you can see all of our unique natural elements in only a few hours drive. Kirkjufell mountain is in only 43 km distance.

It is also known as the Arrowhead mountain in Game of Thrones.

Lava water accommodations is like something out of a fairytale. The apartments are a lovely mix of modern and classic cozy and we found them to be immaculately clean and well equipped. The plush bed, well functioning WiFi, TV, kitchen appliances and luxurious shower made for a comfortable stay where we felt right at home and were able to get plenty of rest and relaxation after a day of exploring.

You need not go far to experience the wonders of Iceland as just stepping outside their doors leaves you awestruck. The property is nestled next to beautiful moss covered lava fields which lead to the foot of the majestic Light Mountains. A babbling brook traverses the property and Icelandic horses and sheep only adds to the charm.

As if things weren’t pleasant enough, it was here that I saw the most spectacular northern lights display I’d encountered in Iceland.

Needless to say, I can’t wait to return and highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Iceland.
